Group classes create a low-pressure environment that foster learning. They’re also a great way to meet other ukulele players!
Most of our in-person classes are an hour per week for four weeks. All class materials are included.
We meet in a classroom in the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center located in downtown Wilmington.
Most of our online classes are an hour per week for four weeks and include all class materials. The class is live (not pre-recorded) and we use Zoom.
Ukuleles are not provided but sometimes folks will borrow a ukulele for the first class day and then get their own. You can buy a good beginner ukulele starting around $50.
We’re not able to offer trial classes. The classes fill up fast and we wouldn’t want to turn down a student who knows they want to join.
If you miss an in-person class, we can email the class handouts and, in most cases, send a Zoom recording from a previous online version of the class.
Yes, we offer weekend workshops where you can learn a particular style, skill, or technique. They are usually 2-3 hours long on a Saturday afternoon. Examples of past workshops include: Strum-Believable • Fab Four On 4 Strings• 1920’s Songs & Techniques • Christmas Ukulele.

If you are already comfortable playing 10 or more chords on ukulele or have experience with the guitar or other stringed instruments, you may want to start with the Ukulele 1.5 class.

Yes. We offer very limited online private lessons. They are $50 for half an hour and taught by Kent Knorr.
We do not have family discounts at this time. Tuition is paid for each student who takes a class.
Full refunds or full class credits are available until 24 hours before your first class begins. If you phone or email to cancel your registration 24 hours before your second or third class begins, a partial prorated class credit minus a $10 cancellation fee can be given. If your class has met three times or it is less than 24 hours before your third class, no school credit is available.

Yes! Our setup includes adjusting the action at the nut and saddle, checking the frets for buzzing and leveling if necessary, pre-stretching the strings, tightening the tuner screws and giving the instrument a general inspection. We specialize in ukuleles, have been playing for over 30 years, and know how to make ukuleles sound their best!
Yes!. We offer ukulele repair, setup, and maintenance. Contact us about special requests.
All products are returnable if the product is in the same condition as when purchased, including product
packaging. Items may be returned no later than 15 days after purchase. Contact us via email or by phone to obtain a RETURN AUTHORIZATION, then items may be shipped back. Customer is responsible for shipping charges for returns. Your credit card will be refunded once the item is inspected and received LESS our 15% restock fee. Items may also be exchanged for in stock store merchandise, after returned item is inspected, with NO restocking fee incurred.
